Call for Participation
The call for participation has now closed.
We have had an excellent range of papers submitted which are currently under review.
A preliminary programme will be available in mid-May.
Final camera ready copy, for inclusion in the conference proceedings, will be due on 15 September 2008.
All papers will be included in the conference proceedings (available in print, Braille and accessible CD). We are currently in negotiation with a journal to take a selection of papers from the conference for a special issue. More on this soon.
Submissions were invited for the following categories:
-
Reflective papers:
Papers which give a reflective overview of a particular topic or research question. This might include reflecting back on your own research or the research of others in a particular field. It might include outlining where you think a particular topic should be heading.
Reflective papers will be given 30 minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for discussion at the conference.
-
Research and practice papers:
Papers which report on recent interesting contributions to research or practice in any area relevant to accessible design in the digital world. We encourage both papers which report on particular studies, but also cases studies, examples of best practice, examples of attempts at accessibility which have failed (we are perhaps too reluctant to discuss our failures, yet it is important to give others indications of worth pursuing).
Research and practice papers will be given 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion at the conference.
-
Workshops and tutorials:
Proposals for half day or full day workshops or tutorials are invited. Workshops may be an opportunity to bring together people from a particular research or practice community, or people interested in a particular topic, for in-depth discussion and debate. Tutorials are designed to introduce participants to a particular topic of interest, to provide both background information and uptodate research or practice ideas.
