Getting to York

York has excellent motorway links to all regions of the UK. York by train is simple, excellent rail links bring you from London, Edinburgh, Manchester in around 2 hours.

Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds/Bradford airports are within easy reach. The ports of Hull and Newcastle are both within a two-hour drive.

By Road

Situated midway between Edinburgh and London, just 20 minutes from the M1/M62 motorway network, York is within comfortable travelling times of most regions in the UK.

York is in easy travelling distance of 3 international airports - Leeds/Bradford, Humberside and Manchester. From Manchester International Airport, frequent Transpennine trains provide the city with a direct round the clock link.

By Train

Getting to York by train is easy and great value too. From London the Journey time is under two hours; Edinburgh is only two and a half hours from York and there are direct services from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and the South West.

Please note: there is no direct rail service to York from Leeds Bradford International Airport; the nearest rail station to Leeds Bradford International Airport is Leeds City Centre. Although further away, Manchester International Airport does have a direct rail service to York. The journey takes approximately 1 and a half hours
